Working on behalf of Workshop Australia and Horticulture Innovation Australia to develop exciting nutritional programs to promote and increase the vegetable intake of Australian primary school students. 1 in 4 Australian children aged between 5-17 are overweight or obese (source ABS National Health Survey 2014/15)
SHORE – DEPARTMENT EFFECTIVENESS REVIEWS & RECOMMENDATIONS
Employed by SHORE school to conduct a comprehensive, collaborative and constructive review of the Economics and Business Department to evaluate the effectiveness of the Business and Economics Department and make recommendations across the areas of: leadership, teamwork, process refinement, innovation, curriculum, resources, professional development, class size, HSC preparation and approaches to special needs.
HIVVE – ENVIRONMENTAL SOLAR POWERED CLASSROOM PILOT PROGRAM
Funded by The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), HIVVE is rolling out a pilot program of smart, modular solar-powered classrooms that generate over 100% of the classroom energy requirements. David is working with HIVVE to develop the curriculum for the pilot program utilising the smart technology that gives students real-time access to the classroom’s living systems including energy generation Vs usage, temperature and air quality data. This specialised curriculum will enhance student learning in a practical setting and be applied to Earth and Environmental Studies, Science, Technology, Maths and Business Studies to name a few.
These pilot classrooms will roll out across two schools and feature solar panels, real-time energy and carbon dioxide metering to provide optimum learning conditions to improve academic performance and contributing to $3000 in energy savings per year per classroom.
